The movie is slated to be shot in English and will be dubbed in Nepali prior to its release.
According to producer Nakim Uddin, ninety percent of the movie’s shooting done in Nepal while the rest in Los Angeles. Makers are planning to release the movie simultaneously in Hollywood, Bollywood and Nepal.
“Given the relatively innovative subject of the film and technological finesse, the film can make a name in the world cinema. This is a global product, so it will go on to please the audiences all over the world,” said director Dhondup.
“A disaffected American-Nepali half Hindu-Muslim boy detours to Kathmandu on his way to find his father in Syria, but his battle against a local don who kills his grandfather teaches him to follow a far more greater purpose in life, and in the process here connects with his roots, culture and traditions of the Himalayan nation, which he had forgotten,” the movie’s logline released by the producers reads.
The Man from Kathmandu marks the maiden project for Tree-City Productions.
