QFX Cinemas, the largest multiplex chain of country has launched its new theatre ‘Chhaya Centre’ in Thamel, Kathmandu on Thursday. The public screening will start from Friday by 3 PM.
With launch of three screen theatre, the total screen count of QFX Cinemas’ in country reaches to 18. In an opening ceremony, Jenifer Lawrence starrer Hollywood spy thriller ‘Red Sparrow’ was special screening for guest and media.

The theatre enhanced sound quality in greater detail, this creates a fuller more immersive experience to the audience and gives better crispness and clarity in audio’ QFX said in press release.
Mr. Nakim Uddin, chair of QFX said, ‘Since the movie going culture around Kathmandu has become increasingly popular, there has been an incline in demand for theatres with top notch amenities and services. By bringing QFX Cinemas to Thamel, we want to meet the expectations of an elevated movie-going experience.’
Mr. Roshan Adiga, CEO of Team Quest (the company which manages QFX Cinemas)adds, ‘As the most happening spot for tourists and young adults, Thamel was the preferred area for QFX Cinemas to explore and introduce its newest cinema theatre.
With this multiplex, QFX Cinemas plans to extend its reach to a greater audience and offer the best-in-class cinematic experience to a wider range of people’ he said.
QFX already have seven theatres including Jaya Nepal, Kumari, Civil, Labim, Pokhara, Narayanghad and Nepalgunj. According to chair Uddin, in near future, QFX will expand its new outlet in eastern city Itahari
