Nepali Actor Bags Emmy Nominations In Hollywood


Kathmandu : Jaswant Dev Shrestha, a Hollywood- based Nepali actor, has received two nominations for the Emmy Awards for this year. Distributed by annual The Heartland chapter, Emmy is an American award which recognizes excellence in the television industry.

Shrestha’s nominations include ‘Outstanding talent/Narrator’ and ‘Outstanding director for short format program’ for his documentary Dog Worship Festival (Kukur Tihar).

‘I’m happy that I could highlight Nepal arts and culture in world stage’ says actor Shrestha. Shrestha was initially a young actor and director of Nepali music videos and documentaries before working in Hollywood. He played as lead actor in the 2013 movie ‘The Treason’.
