Priyanka Karki To Play The Lead Lady in Milan Cham’s BIR BIKRAM 2

Making a sequel of a successful film is not a new trend in Nepali film industry. Recently, Nischal Basnet’s sequel to ‘Loot’ (2012) released and it became commercially a huge hit. ‘Darpan Chhaya’s sequel also hit theatres few weeks back but it didn’t garner much attention and floped badly. Not only this, many sequel movies are lined up to release next year, ‘A Mero Hajur 2’ and ‘Chhakka Panja Again’ being the most awaited sequels of 2074.

And, following the most-adopted trend of the film industry, one more new sequel movie has been announced today. Filmmaker Milan Chams has announced ‘Bir Bikram 2’, a sequel to last year’s dramedy. Though details of this new project hasn’t been revealed, it is expected that the sequel may star the original cast with few new additions to the team. According to production banner, Priyanka Karki will play the lead lady in movie, though lead actor has not been conformed.

‘Bir Bikram’ which starred Dayahang Rai, Deeya Pun, Anoop Bikram Shahi and Aarpan Thapa in lead roles, was appreciated by the viewers and performed well at box office both domestically and internationally. The movie was also released on YouTube on 17th March and it has performed very well there too with around 2.34 million views so far.

Although Milan hasn’t revealed if the second part will be the continuation of the first one or entirely a different story line, he hopes to make the sequel as successful as the original. “Respecting your love, advice and compliment, we the team of Bir Bikram have decided to make Bir Bikram 2 and we would like to assure all of you that we would try our best to make this film as better as Bir Bikram 1,” Milan wrote on Facebook announcing the sequel project.
