Basanta Manandhar, backbone of QFX Cinemas and manger of Hollywood and Bollywood distribution company Apple Entertainment, passed away on Tuesday.
Manandhar was diagnosed with swine flu, high blood pressure and pneumonia, was admitted in Grande Hospital at Dhapasi, Kathmandu. Doctors declared him as death in early morning, conformed by Nakim Uddin, head of the QFX.
He was the key person in behind the success of QFX brand. Since inception of Jaya Nepal Chitraghar, he was actively associated with QFX in the role of manager of Film distribution and management.
‘We are deeply saddened by the passing of Basanta jee’ said Uddin to moviemandu. According to him, last ritual and cremation of Manandhar will be held at Pashupati Aarygaht later today.
