‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ – the biggest film India has ever produced. The film that puts the Indian cinema on global map like never before. It’s the most costliest film, most popular franchise. The craze for this historical war drama among audiences is beyond our imagination. Yes, it’s not a Salman, Aamir or Shah Rukh Khan film but still the kind of delirium this movie has created is far bigger than Khan movies.
‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali’ is a question the whole world wants the answer of. It’s probably the most asked and discussed filmy question ever in the history. The question that emerged after the release of ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ in 2015 is still in discussion and will remain an interactive topic for next few weeks even after the biggest secret is finally revealed in ‘Baahubali 2’ that releases tomorrow.
The countdown has begun. We are just few hours behind to the very first showcase of the grandest movie of 2017. The expectations are all time high and the film’s unit, box office analysts, distributors, exhibitors from all over the world are expecting ‘UNEXPECTED’ opening. While Bollywood hasn’t even delivered a 500 crore nett movie, ‘Baahubali 2’ is expected to accumulate 1000 crore gross. And it seems possible considering the hysteria this film has brought.
The advance booking for ‘Baahubali 2’ is record breaking all over including Nepal. How big this movie is going to be at box office can be envisaged with this fact too that people are buying its ticket even at 2400 rupees at some parts in India. Despite of late opening of advance booking, the film has been completely sold till Sunday at almost everywhere. And this is not the case only in India. USA, Canada and other parts of the world are also seeing the same madness at ticket windows.
The hall owners who mostly depend on Khans movies to earn big profit are pumped up with energy, thanks to the Baahubali mania. What’s more, Corporate employees in Hyderabad have all gone on a mass leave tomorrow as many have booked their tickets for the first day shows. According to Hans India, few Corporate managements are even planning to declare it as a holiday as many have booked the tickets in bulk as a form of an appreciation gift.
‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ is setting a new benchmark to Indian cinema with its grandeur VFX which is not less than an epic Hollywood movie. Thanks to the magnificent trailer that has been viewed over 100 million times and the aggressive promotion for its four language release, ‘Baahubali 2’ is set to create history breaking each and every previous box office record.
‘Baahubali 2’ is releasing in over 6500 cinemas in India and nearly 2000 screens in overseas market making it the biggest ever worldwide release. The first part released in 4000 Indian screens and collected 54 crore gross on the first day. Now as the second part is releasing in 2500 more screens compared to the first, the trade is expecting that the movie could rake in 100 crore gross the very first day. A feat Bollywood films even dare to imagine.
Bollywood trade analyst and box office tracker Taran Adarsh says, “I have never seen this kind of pre-release craze among audiences across the globe. Baahubali 2’s expectations are humongous, as it has become the biggest brand in Indian cinema. The film will take a gargantuan opening on a par with an Aamir or a Salman Khan film.” And yes, we all agree with his point.
Talking about its Nepal release, ‘Baahubali 2’ is set to shatter many records. Just like India and other countries, this film has unbelievable buzz in Nepal too. From tea corners to college cafeteria to the social media, people are talking about the end of the first part and guessing the most on-going question, “Why did kattapa killed Bahubali?”. People were ready for doing pre-booking before one month even single screen and multiplex didn’t open booking though. This clearly seems how is the buzz for ‘Baahubali 2’ in Nepal.
Gopi Krishna Movies has bought its distribution rights at 1.31 crore rupees – 17 times more than what was paid for ‘Baahubali’ (7.50 lakh). The advance booking is very strong, similar to Salman’s ‘Sultan’. The film is releasing solo in more than 100 theatres with lots of expectations. ‘Dangal’ and ‘Sultan’ had amassed 10 crore in Nepal last year. Will ‘Baahubali 2’ reach that mark? Only time will tell. As of now, just get ready for ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’.
